Abstract

The aquaculture activity requires constant water and good feeding; it must have physical and chemical conditions that allow the integral development of the cultivated species. The aim of this research was to demonstrate in the aquatic environment if the Biofloc system in vats can obtain growth, adequate weight gains and low mortality. To do this, monitoring of field control and tests on dependent variables such as pH, temperature, amount of dissolved oxygen, nitrite, ammoniacal nitrogen, nitrate, alkalinity, hardness, total phosphorus and turbidity were applied. According to the results, there were no significant differences in weight gain, growth and low mortality levels in the evaluated tanks, without water replacement with efficient microorganisms and the control tank with water replacement. In conclusion, the Biofloc system is capable of maintaining water physical and chemical parameters without replacement and only artificial oxygen is added; being considered as a clean Eco-aquaculture alternative for the producers.
