Abstract

During 1982, drought and worm (Mocis sp.) affected rice crops in Zumbona, District of Sona, Province of Veraguas, Republic of Panama. Under these conditions a chemical control test based on the stage of development of the crop (64 days), was carried out to determine if it was or not necessary. The results showed that Fenvalerate and Acetate under dose of 50 cc/hectare and 750 g/hectare, controlled worm in a 95 and 92% respectively. Both treatments gave optimum performance, with no significative difference between them, including witness Repetition of this test under similar conditions to verify results and to determine critical stage in different levels of dossage according to the stage of development of the crop, is recomended.
